Review on πŸŽ’ Versatile and Stylish Mardingtop Motorcycle Traveling Backpack in Black (28L) by Nicholas Reggae

Good backpack, almost perfect design

This is a great 28L backpack for a weekend in the woods (3 days 2 nights). I love the clamshell opening of this bag which makes it easy to get to everything. The main compartment is large enough to hold a hammock, straps, a change of socks and underwear, a kitchen system and video gear. I have a 2 liter bladder that fits well. The pockets on the back are a bit shallow but fit my head torch, penlight, water filter, fire starter, boo boo kit etc. The top pocket is good for snacks, bug spray, compass etc. I have a folding saw on the right side, supported by a side pocket, and on the left side a 27oz single wall stainless steel Klean Kanteen. I hang a 10x10 tarp on the ground to act as a rain cover for the hammock. I used a bungee to attach a lightweight poncho to the back of the backpack. The only thing I had to add is a decent trauma kit that mounts low in the middle of the pack. Shoulder straps are good, especially if you're in the roughly 25-28 pound gear range (mine is 17 pounds). no water or food). The adjustable chest strap is good but sometimes doesn't stay where I want it after removing the backpack. The hip belt is minimal, but stabilizes the backpack well. Don't think you'll hang extra bags on it. The zippers are fine although some of the puffs can come loose. The easy fix is to take a pair of pliers and crush the zippers. From time to time they like to reach into the inner lining of the main compartment, but nothing serious. For me it's almost perfect. I would really like to see the main compartment depth was 1-1.5 inches more. I think it would make the side pockets a bit larger to hold a 40oz bottle. I would also prefer two adjustable straps at the bottom, but the four loops work there too.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • So far so good
