Nice way to showcase your albums.

I use albums from my collection as wall art in my home office and home theater. Home theater albums in standard metal frames with glass. I started to worry about possible problems with sticking covers to glass. I also wanted to be able to easily exchange the display for other albums. B004FJOUV2/ref=pd_sbs_hg_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0C4GY8JCMJMZ104VAKGH) available from Revain, as well as standard glass and metal frames. These mounts are made from two pieces of flexible plastic, while the RecordsOnWalls are made from one hard piece of plastic. RecordsOnWalls uses a foam strip in the bottom slot that holds the record in place. I have a couple of albums that don't take the first place far enough to slip out. AlbumMount allows you to customize the frame. I prefer the AlbumMount platter swapping, they give just enough to easily pop a platter in. Changing records in standard frames is of course more difficult as you have to take the back off, take out the album, (probably) clean the glass, put in a new album, close and hang it back up. I also mostly prefer the look and feel of AlbumMount. It covers less of the actual album and seems more subtle to the artwork. However, the albums seem to float off the wall where they appear more solid in RecordsOnWalls. Another advantage is that they are cheaper. Since I've exhibited 30 albums, it matters. I have a problem with AlbumMount and RecordsOnWalls. They are hung from above and below and I have found that the album covers tend to open into these frames. This is the only advantage of standard metal frames - the albums are flat and hold tight. I have some concerns that this will cause ring wear. I'm considering taking the records off, storing them in blank album sleeves (I have a lot of them) and just displaying the sleeves under glass in a metal frame. One star off because the three album mounts I ordered were shipped in a bubble. mail program. The package arrived damaged although the goods were in order. While I have no problem recommending AlbumMounts, I encourage you to think carefully about your needs. If you want to display a large number of records, this is significantly cheaper than the other two frames, especially if you order multiple frames. Ideally, I recommend ordering and trying all three types and seeing which works best for you.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine
