This is a fun addition to our playroom! Our kids climb all day. I spray painted them as I didn't like the base colors and they seem to be holding up well. It was pretty easy to install, it just took a while. We used 3/4 plywood drilled into 3 2x4s that are drilled into studs. I don't remember the size of the drill we used to pre-drill the holes. It was more than 1/4 and less than 1/2. I had absolutely no trouble lifting 200 pounds. Very strong and strong. They're pretty uncomfortable to climb. This is a very hard, durable plastic, unlike traditional stone wall mounts. We, big-footed adults, worry about this, but children have no complaints. You're on your feet all day!
