This backpack had bad reviews and I bought it with full expectation that it would break on first use. I've had it for a while. He's been on several long day hikes with 12 beers and 1 cone of ice cream and has never let me down. Even if you empty it immediately when you get home and dry it, there will be no smell. It could be a bit bigger and stronger but it works well and the day it breaks I'll buy two more. I recommend this for the traveler who needs cold drinks! LATEST NEWS 19 OCTOBER. I went on a 6 mile hike this weekend and the backpack still hasn't broken but I've only bought two more because after a while with the same cooler it's time to throw it away and buy a new one . Eventually, no matter how clean you are, it will start to smell or mold. -- When I threw mine away yesterday it still didn't smell or have mold, I just did it because I like new things and am paranoid -- It's a good backpack
