Review on Oral-B iO Series 8 Electric πŸͺ₯ Toothbrush: Black Onyx with 3 Replacement Brush Heads by Justin Stinson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Wonderful toothbrush.

Very glad I bought This toothbrush is a big upgrade from my old electric Oral B. I've increasingly stopped using the old Oral B due to its sensitivity, it had a slight "jackhammer" feeling in sensitive areas. I just had my first round of a DEEP cleaning (where they were supposed to freeze you for "bags") and I was getting more and more frustrated with my deteriorating dental health. Then my old electric died and I thought I'd take a chance and buy these new ones. I will say I think the price of a brush is outrageous and the price of nozzles is ridiculous. Having paid that price, however, I acknowledge that I am part of the problem. I started brushing my teeth in "super sensitive" mode and now I use "sensitive" mode. I'll try going higher just to try them out, but I honestly think the "sensitive" mode is thorough enough. I felt it was touchy the first few times I used it, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I find the pen timer extremely useful and the green light is also very good. At first I couldn't clean the green zone (which shows the correct pressure), I had to use it very lightly in the beginning. Again, I'm glad I did and it didn't take me long to get used to the correct pressure, but I use a mirror to stay within the green as it's easy to light. Using the brush for the mentioned 2 minutes results in a very thorough cleaning and also provides good contact time to maximize my sensitive toothpaste and the fluoride it contains. I feel like now that I'm using this brush with a timer and a mirror, I'm treating all my teeth more equally. I don't miss any tender spots and find myself subconsciously worrying about the deterioration of my teeth and what the bacteria was doing to the rest of my body. Now I feel much more confident in my future checks. Finally, my hygienist was much more excited about my purchase of the Waterpik as it really is key to breaking down the "biofilm" that hardens into plaque. I don't know why dentists stop promoting Waterpiks, I've definitely never seen a dentist insist on more than proper brushing and flossing, which I hate. If you have gum problems, I think your first line of defense would be an irrigator. You will be amazed how pleasant this jet of warm water is and how clean it is in preparation for this brush. I feel a lot cleaner together, and even after a few hours I feel noticeably cleaner. My mouth doesn't get sour during the day. This shows that I really care about this biofilm. That's great! I am very thankful for these products and for the healing I feel in my teeth and gums.
