Easy to use, ready to go and back to work. I'm hypersensitive to noise and have tried using earplugs to help. All. . Time. Big mistake on my part as the all day earplugs made me more sensitive to everyday noises and increased the tinnitus. I've learned a long history of desensitizing, watching ASMR on YouTube for example to help with chewing out loud, so I knew I was just avoiding the discomfort of earplugs. Once I found the pink/brown noise setting (it's a deeper roar - not high pitched and tinny like white noise), my whole world changed. We've tried noise apps on our phones and TVs, but the sound machine works so much better. I'm willing to accept the placebo effect, or maybe it's a machine, or maybe both; The main thing is that it works properly. We live on a busy street and I can't hear a single engine - the noise is heard through earplugs, noise canceling headphones in the back bedroom with the music on and the door closed. Instead, I'm standing on the doorstep, NO ear protection, and I can't hear the damn noise from outside. It lives with me now, and I mean FOREVER. If you are sensitive to noise, this machine is worth trying. If someone told me there was only $30 between me and the world, I wouldn't believe them, but now they're telling me shut up and take my money! I can take another one just in case or help the kids sleep. In any case I am happy with my purchase and the car itself is beautiful.
