This item came in a box with a picture of the item printed on the outside. For an elderly person I would recommend that someone help them deliver the package as according to shipping it weighs just over 25lbs. When I unpacked the product, everything was fine. No dents, scratches or visible damage. It was a very simple and straightforward setup, you basically set it in front of your chair after removing the styrofoam and plastic bag covering it and fixing it to the wall and it's ready to use. The pictures provided with the purchase of this item are somewhat misleading. Although the remote control is not mentioned anywhere in the description, in the actual picture the control panel looks like it is a detachable remote control when in fact it is just an enlarged control panel on the massager. I read several reviews before purchasing this item. Some people have complained about the lack of pressure on their feet. I think that really should do where you position your feet. I had to somehow move mine around until I found a middle ground and applied enough pressure. As for the calf massage, it actually hurts me and my wife. The pressure on the calf is quite strong, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I know that you have to train a lot of muscles. Some people have complained about the lack of heat, or lack thereof. I totally agree on this point. It feels like it's not heating at all even when running for an hour instead of the 15 minutes it normally starts with. There was no increase in heat. And I keep my house in 60 degrees, so it's cold in my house. I would feel any warmth it radiates and it doesn't. So I am very disappointed in that regard.
