A bit chunky and heavy for my small stature. But it definitely protects my laptop, iPad and important documents. I think you can't have protection without bulky pads. One thing that definitely impressed me is that it doesn't attract cat hair like other bags. And I have 4 cats. I wasn't even looking for a bag with such a function. My old one wore out after 10 years so I needed a new one. It's easy to clean. Leaves no stains. I accidentally touched it with my hand after holding greasy fried food. Really tidy. I also accidentally got powdered sugar when eating Dunkin' Donuts munchkins with powdered sugar. Again cleaned very well. I used water and pea sized soap with an old toothbrush and rinsed. I see myself with this bag for 10 years, just like my old one!
