I have used many poetry cases in the past and they have historically lived up to expectations. Protection is definitely in place with raised edges, thick sides and reinforced corners. I never felt like my tablet would break. There is some extra bulk, however, but that's to be expected from any high-security case. My biggest complaint and why I didn't give it 5 stars is that the footrest isn't at the best angle in its default position. The angle it is at doesn't point the tablet towards the user, it's pointing too high. It's great if you're standing at a table and looking down, but as someone who sits at most tables I would have preferred the angle to be a bit sharper. This also makes it more difficult to use in bed, since you are often at the same height as the tablet. This makes it practically unsuitable for this scenario. You can change the angle, which is handy for drawing, and it looks very upwards, which is fine for its intended purpose, but I really wish the default angle was sharper. Plus, it's definitely in the top 3 for defense.
