This hammock is very easy to assemble. There are four main suction cups that hold the two hammocks in place, but there are two additional suction cups that hold the wires in place and help stabilize the hammocks. The hole in one of the hammocks is a nice touch so the cats can either see each other without having to lean over the edge or use it as a passage between the upper and lower hammocks. These hammocks remind me of miniature mesh beds. The fabric around the opening is frayed a bit from kitty play, but that's to be expected. The network is holding up well so far. The mesh is held in place by snaps so I squeezed them regularly as they loosen up a bit when the cats are playing, but we've had no problems with any of the buttons coming loose or popping out. My two five month old kittens love lying in these hammocks; However, this required some building services work (rigging). The two suction cups that hold the wires are not of the best quality and design. The four suction cups on the hammocks are very strong and hold up well even though they look simple. However, the top two suction cups don't hold up well (and look more sophisticated). Without these two suction cups, using it without external support is almost impossible as the hammocks will just hang down. I washed the window and made sure everything was clean to make good contact; However, after 30 minutes at the window, the top suction cups began to fall off. I washed the window and the suction cups. He kept it for a while, but turned it off again in the morning. I put them back in their place and after a few hours they both fell off and my kittens ran around the room. I examined the suction cups and found that there is a sticky rubber material around the edges to give the suction cup a good grip, but this layer began to curl and separate from the suction cups. Since I have a set of cat towers, I was able to tuck that set under the hammocks and use some wooden blocks to support the edges of the hammock. This will keep the hammocks in place so the kittens can continue to use them. Even with no load on the top suction cups, they don't stay in place while the other four suction cups hold up well. I love the idea behind this product but the top two suction cups ruin the design. Luckily my kittens are practically fearless and don't shy away from their favorite spot. If it were my scary older cat, she would leave the lovely rest stop and never come back. Luckily, she left that territory to the kittens. With improved suction cups to secure the support lines, this is a great product for any cat who loves window sitting.
