I'm beyond impressed! I bought this cooler to take all my own foods for Ragnar -- 200 mile relay running event (and we went down a day early, so rather than this being a 36 hour event, it was closer to a 60 hour event). I don't eat the same foods as most runners & I don't eat out, so having my own food (in a cooler as it would be in a refrigerator at home) was key!A couple months later I'm heading for a 4-day weekend in the Grand Canyon. Flying food from Tennessee, I thought, would be a little more difficult, but with this cooler -- NO, it wasn't. I only took foods to supplement me while I was out there knowing the lodge where we were staying had dining options. So I first added an emergency foil sheet (the foil blankets we get at a finish line of a marathon) to keep everything colder. Then I added tons of those hard / plastic ice packs (frozen before adding). I then added all my food. Yogurt, boiled eggs, my probiotics, avocados, and sweet peppers.Everything was in the refrigerator until the moment I left for the airport. I filled the cooler with all these things at 5 p.m. on a Thursday, my flight was at 6:30. I then took the filled cooler & placed it into my medium sized suitcase -- it fit perfectly. Now.I could "check" the cooler at the airport without worry of the airlines damaging it.We arrived in Las Vegas that night.and at the Grand Canyon around 4 a.m. local time (6 a.m. Nashville time). I opened the cooler, everything was completely cold still.The next day -- everything still enormously cold!The next day -- everything still very cold, but at that time I added three ziplocks of ice from the inn where we were staying.The rest of the 4-day weekend -- no more ice & everything stayed SOOOO COLD! I will tell you I was shocked.So.if you're a runner & taking your own food on locations to races (especially if needing your own hydration & food for an Ultra), I HIGHLY recommend this cooler.
