I use this TT solely for playing records in my office. This is definitely a pretty good looking piano black device. Basically, for what I'm using the TT for, it's great. Sounds very good, tracks well, very easy to set up and use. After taking everything out of the box, I probably started playing records after about 15 minutes. In hindsight, however, I probably should have paid the extra $50 for the RT81 for a number of reasons. 1) The RT80's feet are quite wobbly and have very little vibration dampening. 2) I didn't buy both to do A/B but I suspect the upgraded headshell alone would be worth it. 3) I've never used a rubber mat, but the felt mat on the RT80 holds static and definitely attracts dust. Still, it's a good player and, with the possible exception of the feet, could be upgraded later to address those shortcomings. Questions.
