cartridge is a mass produced solid black unit. The picture shows a two-piece original OEM cartridge. Doesn't seem to affect functionality. It came with a protective film over the chip and it really got recognized when I first put it in the car. So 5 stars despite the wrong offer picture, because it works (as far as I can tell) and I would order it again based on my current knowledge.
