Will not work on a 3 " dress
I ordered the clips with a shiny brass finish. My dress is a 2 7/8" thick flat dress. This clip doesn't fit without a serious alteration. I formed a 4" x 2 7/8" wooden mandrel with 1/2" corners, got out the urethane coated hammers and got to work. The base metal is probably brass and was easy to shape without damaging the surface .Ten minutes to shape and another five minutes to fit the robe.My wife thinks they look great and now "fit" and are very strong.
