Thick material compared to other brands

New to Compression Socks I have bought 3 brands looking for best value for money for consistent use. Absolute Support $25, Medieven $40, and Therafirm Ease $90. I measured 9" ankle, 16" calf, 24-25" thigh and 28-29" floor to thigh. The most interesting thing about compression stockings is that all brands have different size charts! So be sure to take a tape measure with you! I was measured at a local medical supply company where I bought a pair of Therafirm Ease; they are light, hold the belt well, do not fall off and are quite comfortable to put on. Of course, the strip leaves dotted marks at the top of my thigh, and these are compression stockings, so putting them on takes a little effort. My spare pair wears well. Medi compares well to Therafirm Ease - same light weight, same dotted band that won't fall off, and half the price! They would be perfect if it wasn't for the size. I was big into Therafirm Ease. My measurements put me in either Medium or Large in Medi. I grew up They are too easy to wear - there is practically no compression. Do I spend another $40 to try on Wednesday if they don't fit at all? That's how big my problem with medi is. And then absolute support at a sensational price! I wanted to love them and buy 3! This price! I bought a large from this brand and it has the same great compression as Therafirm Ease but the material is thicker and harder to stretch on the legs - I would really recommend using gloves with this brand for donning as they are really thinner will need it out. high! Once I fully worked them out, I alternately loved them and absolutely hated them when I wore them. When relaxed, before I put them on, they were the longest stockings I've ever bought, but that's because they don't fit you well! They are indeed worn out - they are the shortest set I've bought and I had a hard time keeping them fully on my waist - they were constantly being adjusted and reinserted. If I decide to buy another pair of Absolute Support I might try the Extra Large, one size bigger. But I'm not sure I'll spend more money on another set that doesn't work. Much luck!
