I don't wear eyelash extensions but thought it would help me take my mascara off at the end of the day. It foams and inevitably gets into my eyes. Of course it is alcohol-free, but not odorless. Maybe it's the smell of burnt perfume? In any case, I would expect a lot softer from a product intended for use around the eyes. upset.
