When I bought this I wasn't sure if a heavy glass stand of this size would be enough to support a 55 inch TV. This is the end unless you fall on him!. I also have a Polk Soundbar with a subwoofer. I adjusted the top shelf and TV so that the soundbar is very close to the bottom edge of the TV. There is space for everyone to store remote controls. The second shelf offers space for a small DVD player or laptop. 14 inch laptop can be fully opened. My 15 inch screen opens just wide enough to connect and then I can use a wireless mouse and keyboard. On the bottom glass I placed a subwoofer, an air conditioner and a cable modem, and there was still room for a vase or other decoration. Looks very clear (because I took the picture I hid the wires)
