I bought this radio to use while working outdoors so I was looking for something relatively lightweight. This Sony Walkman, on the other hand, is fairly light and the clip holds it fairly securely. Of course, radio is important for its ability to pick up stations and reproduce sound. As for getting channels, I've never been able to get a solid "lock" on the local NPR station (88.9). I could pick up another station clearly "before" an NPR station, and I could pick up the same station just as clearly "after" an NPR station. When I could get a static NPR station, that was the problem. Also when I moved (e.g. to pull weeds) I lost one NPR station and the other station became crystal clear. To be fair it could be a problem with the transmitter, although it works fine with my truck's radio. Unlike the NPR station, the radio picked up other stations very well and had excellent sound quality for a radio of this price. Offer. So if you need stations to tune into, you'll find this is a good radio. The radio's plastic case is just cheap plastic that looks pretty brittle. I didn't drop test it but didn't expect it to take too much abuse, but of course it's a more affordable radio. The headphones produce decent sound, but they fell off quite often when I tried to use them. Since I was working outside, I was sweaty and moved quite a bit. Switching to better headphones solved this problem.
