I think this mouse pad is expensive but after using 'old' white for a few months and watching for cat hair and stains it has accumulated that (I use it on a table in an art studio to make it splatter with paint) I finally broke down and picked this one up hoping it could be better. I assumed it was hard plastic but it's not - it's a very, very strong fabric that twists but doesn't flex and wipes clean easily. That's great*. It doesn't pick up lint, and even after my cat gets up and slumps on it, rolls over it and looks at me (at least with my cats, intense stare always goes with excess hair). don't stick. do not pick up cat hair. My cat also tried sharpening his claws on him but (thankfully) it didn't work. I've already accidentally doused it with paint and it's rubbed off. It's very minimalistic and clean. My Apple mouse works great with it. My only issue with it is that it sometimes sounds/feels like nails scraping fabric and that noise drives me *crazy* so it's not my favorite. But that rarely happens. Expensive mouse pad but worth it.
