I'm an engineer and bought this water bottle for my wife when we go camping. This water bottle was designed in the USA and made in China. In my opinion this is the best combo, design and spec for the US. The bottle was very nicely packaged and well presented when given as a gift in a really nice box with a magnetic closure. The bottle itself appears to have an outer shell that is much better than the paint. Why? Well, if you tear or scratch the packaging, you can just peel it off, you can't necessarily do it with paint, so I'm like that. To continue, the bottle itself, as you might imagine, is an insulated 304 stainless steel hollow core vacuum with a rubber base to prevent slipping on smooth surfaces. Now moving on to the "active" parts of the bottle, the cap is where all the magic happens, the top of the bottle has a self-contained UV light, a battery and control switch, and a USB-C charging port . Also, as you can see in the picture, the outer ring of the top can be folded up for a handy hanger for easy carrying or maybe attaching to a backpack with a D-ring. During charging, a nice green light will flash to indicate charging and to turn on the UV 'action' (normal disinfection time is 90 seconds) just press the button in the middle of the top, very simple and straightforward. In terms of build quality, ease of use, and fully automatic operation to sanitize the water, this is a really good UV water bottle.
