Review on 🧀 Icebreaker Merino Standard Flexible Winter by Duane Kerr

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Soft, light and non-scratch leggings are great for strenuous training sessions on cold winter days

I bought these for my husband because he runs long distances every day in all weathers - even the terribly cold and wet winter days. In the past, he wore a Smartwool balaclava in bad weather to keep his lower face and head warm. However, the problem with balaclavas is that in some weather conditions you only need/want to cover the lower part of your face at certain times during your run, e.g. B. when you run against the wind. Although you can sometimes tuck the bottom portion of the balaclava under your chin, this is not always convenient. That's where these wool gaiters come in. You can leave it comfortably folded around your neck for warmth and pull it over your nose and mouth only when you really need it. There's no need to take the hat off or "unclip" anything - just pull the top edge. Like my husband's favorite balaclava, these Icebreaker leggings are made from lightweight 100% merino wool that's soft and non-itchy. If you train hard in gaiters or a balaclava that covers your nose and mouth, you'll find that naturally water-resistant wool clothing like these is more breathable and comfortable than synthetics, reducing wet breath and ice crystals on your skin. rolled over the head and slightly around the neck. When fully folded it measures approximately 20 x 10 inches.
