Review on Terasako Magnetic Connector Android Devices by Kevin Parker

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good idea, poor quality

Unfortunately, the workmanship is not as good as the concept. The slip rings are small because they're meant to be, but they're inconsistent and contact is discontinuous, making them useless for things like Android Auto, where they'd really come in handy. You can buy similar ones with just two charging pins, which are great for that because the tolerances are wider, but then you don't have a data connection. Too bad. The other issue with one of the magnetic connectors is that the magnets will bind to nearby ferrous metals which can cause your power supply to shut down and eventually turn off, drawing power from your power supply, which is what we pay for. Think of it as free money you're giving away to an energy company. It's a great idea in the end, but needs better quality control and tolerances before it's ready for the consumer.

Pros
  • Magentic connector compatible with smartphones and other Type C devices
Cons
  • Contact seller
