I have two straight razors that I use but I needed a real straight razor which my dad used. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my first "real" straight razor so I decided to try this one after reading many positive reviews. I am not disappointed! That's a great razor. Sharp, good weight and looks great. I ironed it about 15 or 20 times to smooth out the edges before using it, but I expected it anyway. The cardon steel blade has a very sharp, smooth edge. This is my razor now and I'm sure it will last a long time with proper care.
