Review on Ultimate Fun with Melissa & Doug Magnetic Fishing Magnets: Reel in a World of Excitement! by Marley Woods

Bought this as a Christmas present for my niece (2 years old at the time). It was inexpensive and reminded me of the battery powered fishing games I played as a kid minus the extra plastic parts, sounds and batteries. My niece immediately realized that she could "cheat" by placing the magnetic stick directly on the puzzle piece instead of "fishing" the traditional way. Also be careful when toddlers are fishing for pieces as they can get overexcited and swing the line and a jigsaw piece can end up right in your eye (I've found). She has other puzzles with Melissa and Doug, but she seemed to enjoy this one as it was centered around the ocean and made no noise. She had a truck and car puzzle that she showed me but the sound of the ambulance was startling. We told her that the ambulance is helping people, but she was still afraid of it. In any case, I think it was a worthy addition to the collection. She has a little brother now, he can play with that in a few years!
