This is very convenient because once installed you can leave a light on it for quick access.
I was recently invited to participate in a podcast and each time it took me a few minutes to set up some lights. After a few times, I wanted something that would sit on my desk all the time. I attached this stand to the back of my desk and used it to hold the main light while the fill light was mounted on a 6" tripod on my desk. I highly recommend getting this mounting stand if you regularly do zooms or videos of any kind, meetings, or if you need permanent lighting on your desk.
