Very durable and can be installed on drywall.

I have Mount-It! Heavy-duty speaker wall mount on either side of the TV in a corner approximately 8ft for mounting 12lb bookshelf speakers. Luckily, they're well enough under my speaker size to target my listening position. These were my discoveries during the installation. - DURABLE: made of hardened steel and very durable. I used them for 12 pound bookshelf speakers. -- STUD INSTALLATION ONLY?: Instructions only cover stud or stone installation. I didn't have a stud I wanted to install and I used drywall anchors for the 4 mounting holes. It is very strong considering the weight and installs easily on drywall without bolts. See photos of the drywall anchors I used. -- NOT SUITABLE FOR SPIKES. The instructions ask you to install the brackets onto the studs. However, the spacing between the mounting holes is too large to fit a standard 1.5 inch thick bolt. -- LONG SHAFT SCREWDRIVER REQUIRED: The swivel arm prevents the screwdriver from getting near the screw when screwing into the wall. You need a long shaft and then always screw into the wall at an angle - MOUNTING PLATES: These come with mounting plates for the back of the speaker and fit into the hooks on the bracket and then screw onto the brackets. The brackets were too big to fit on either side to fit banana jacks, so I drilled my own mounting holes and covered the notch of the banana plug. See illustration. It worked fine. I was surprised at how hard the steel was when I drilled new mounting holes. -- SCREWING THE SPEAKER INTO THE BRACKET IS MANDATORY INFORMATION. It is equipped with small hex screws to attach the speaker to the bracket. If the speakers are high, they can be screwed in, but it works. -- BE CAREFUL WHEN INSTALLING IN A CORNER: If you are installing in a corner and need a large angle to point the speakers as the brackets can hardly align properly. I needed a 30 degree angle and with my speaker size and down angle, that was the maximum I could get before the speaker cabinet hit the wall. This depends a lot on how you place the speaker mounts. So be aware if you have a cumbersome setup like mine. The speaker was 8.25"W x 8.25"D x 13"D.
