Review on Derby Extra Double Razor Blades by Erin Sacchetti

These are just great blades. I tried several different blades each: Derby, Astra, Bic, Gillette Silver Blue, Gillette 7 O Clock Black, Nacht, Personna and Feather. These are all great blades. But I keep coming back to Derby. The derby blade isn't the sharpest blade, but the shave is much smoother and less annoying. I can easily get a BBM shave with three simple passes and a few extended passes over key areas. The closest thing to them is Gillete Silver Blue. Also excellent, a bit sharper but very smooth. Bick is next in line. Then Gillette Seven O'Clock Blacks. They are much sharper and also very smooth, but cut the skin much more easily. The strongest is Feather. It's very sharp, but even without cutting yourself, the passage is rough and irritates my skin. While I get it faster with Feather, I don't get a smoother shave and tend to get irritated. So it's always a matter of personal taste. All I can say is that the Derby shaves my beard and skin as closely as any other blade and with very, very little irritation. Oh, and the lightweight razor blades give me a close shave for two weeks.
