Will not fit all gallon cans
I bought this for a gallon can so I can sour cabbage in it. The lid didn't fit the jar I have, but I was able to get it working by covering the hole with plastic wrap, then putting the lid on and poking the airlock through the plastic so I still had an anaerobic environment.
