Wet Shaving Products sells Gold Dollar razors that are ready-to-shave and non-shaveable. This item is not shave ready. If you want to buy an inexpensive razor to learn how to shave with a razor, I recommend getting a GD208 carbon steel or GD800 stainless steel razor. I already had a GD800 razor ready. I bought a GD208 razor to learn how to sharpen razors. For the price paid, the Gold Dollars are not bad razors, but in terms of quality they are in no way comparable to razors from Western Europe or the USA; And yes, they are not comparable in price. Gold dollar razors appear to be made out of decent steel which, when properly sharpened, has a decent edge. Scale made of inexpensive plastic.
