Depends on the intention, ideal or not.

I bought this specifically for my 2 year old who was fascinated with my turntable. Rather than keep telling her not to touch my dad's stereo, I figured she was old enough to play records on her own. Out of the hundreds of portable players, this was one of the few with a rechargeable battery, which was a big plus for little ones' safety. I also thought that this little system could grow with it as it gets older and I might want to use the Bluetooth setup. sound quality. As many reviewers note, the sound quality isn't great. It can be noisy but a little muted. This is to be expected from any useless portable player. Imagine an old clock radio with a little more bass. Perfect for a toddler and assuming it will work in 10 years, an angry teenager locking himself in his room won't bother me as the volume gets too loud. Durability - The parts are definitely fragile and made out of flimsy plastic. I bought it knowing my kid might break it but so far everything works fine. She has learned to deal with it. This is definitely not a kid's turntable for the price of an early '80s Fisher (these things were built to last). It's a shame because Pine would have stood a chance for goofy parents like me if they used heavier, stronger plastic components and just sold them to kids. I definitely have no regrets and would buy it again. My daughter loves it, it doesn't make much noise. She also has a heavy hand so if you're thinking about getting one for a kid, great. If you're looking for a basic player but aren't obsessed with sound quality, this definitely works. If you dream of taking your love to the beach and playing a fun tune while watching the sunset, this is perfect. If you want a good bourbon and listen to a good jazz record, this is definitely not for you. Grandma's worn-out Zeppelin records? Yes. Great-grandmother's Thelonious Monk in excellent condition? no
