I didn't buy this product for protection but for grip. I know there are other better grips out there, but they either don't fit as a case, are bulky, or don't match the color of my Switch Lite. Having bought and used this product, I'm a fan. My own downside is that the body is a bit larger than my Switch so the top and bottom are a little wobbly. That's not much in this price range. The most important thing for me are the handles. The thing is made of soft silicone. The inside of the handle consists of crisscross support lines. This stiffens the shape of the handle, but at the same time makes it somewhat compressible. This is good as the grip fits my fingers and doesn't give way. The case itself isn't slippery either. I like that the button cutouts have plenty of room to press and don't get in the way of your thumbs at all. The fact that it's silicone also helped me decide on a hard case as I can easily take it off if for some reason it needs to be replaced or cleaned. Final consideration: a pretty decent case for the price. I think the silicon is a little wonky and that might help with the passive heating of the switch. A hard case can interfere with air cooling, but I'm not an expert on this.
