After years of using extension cords and timers, we found these battery operated self-timer candle holders for our windows during the holiday season. What an improvement! Ordered 12 candles. Everything works as it should. We put batteries in all 12 and then turned on the switches together so they start and end at the same time. They go out after five hours. They're not as bright as corded candles, but they're highly visible from the street and give the look you want. The yellow cast is imperceptible, as is flickering. We have now ordered another set of 4 for our side windows. Even though we only used them for a week, they worked perfectly. Of course, we can't yet say how long the included batteries will last, but they're alkaline, not heavy-duty, which is the first time I've come across a vendor including alkaline. If I look at them more from the street, they are not as bright as I first thought. They can be seen from the street but obviously don't illuminate the window. Also, we bought 16 lightbulbs and we have a few troublesome ones that require checking and turning the lightbulb on and off.
