I just received the Targus Drifter II backpack. The Targus Drifter II may be of lower quality, but I'll update this review once I get a chance to use it on the road. My previous backpack was the SwissGear Computer Backpack, which I love as I'm an IT guy and travel a lot for work. I need storage for my laptop, that's a charger, a mouse, a Nexus 7 and its charger, a backup battery for the Nexus and my phone, meds (vitamins, ibuprofen, peptobismol, etc.), pens, a USB 2.5 Hard Drive ", Flash Drives. The reason I bought the Targus Drifter II was to find a similar backpack with the same number of pockets, but that doesn't make me look like a significantly thinner Turtle Drifter in profile (See customer images) Backpack The Targus Drifter II is an almost identical copy of the SwissGear computer backpack, it has exactly the same pockets (small organizational difference in the second zipped compartment on the front) and has 1 additional pocket almost hidden in the lumbar area that touches the Back when carrying the backpack.Pocket 1 - a small zipper on the front, suitable for small things such as headphones, flash drives, business cards, rubber bands.Ta s 2 - 2. Front zip closure, a small pocket with organizational compartments and pockets inside. Pocket 3 - 3. Front zip closure, slim pocket suitable for tablet or small notepad. Pocket 4 is the 4th zip on the front, the workhorse of pockets, it is divided into 2 compartments and has a zipped mesh pocket that lives here (that's where I keep my meds), this is where I keep my spare hat, water bottles , bandana. If I had a larger laptop power supply (Brick), it would fit here as well. If necessary, you can store folded clothes here for a few days. Pocket 5-5. Front zip closure. My bag for quick storage. This is a great place for items that need to be put away or taken away quickly. I use this in the TSA security line to hide my wallet, phone and watch before going through the metal detector so I can grab them quickly after going through. Pocket 6 - 6. Front zip closure. Laptop sleeve and small mesh zipper (This mesh zipper is great for a macbook air power bank and wireless mouse and a few other small items. Pocket 7 is a lumbar bag. Haven't figured it out yet, but will find out later when I'm at the airport Side pockets (2) - roomy, I keep here chargers and USB cables for phone and tablet Nexus 7. Also backup battery for phone and tablet, mifi router, game cards, external mesh side pockets (2), company badge , sunscreen/umbrella, harmonica This is a great bag and I hope my concerns about durability and quality are unfounded I will let you know if there are any problems or interesting results!
