Review on ๐ŸŽธ Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Wii - Next-Level Music Gaming Experience! by Matthias Foxx

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great device for your purposes!

Very nice plastic game controller. If you want your kids to have lots of fun and maybe even learn a few things, buy one (it's relatively cheap now), but make sure you get a Rock Band 3 CD for your Wii (everything you need) have for the game). Rock Band 3, except the CD comes with the controller). Now let's assume you also want to play something with it alone or use it as a midi controller, and if so, you want to know a few things first: Pros :1. Relatively cheap purchase 2. Looks good3. It's plug and play - very easy to hook up (assuming you have all the cables) 4. Ease of use Cons: 1. This is a plastic toy for kids with some midi functions, it doesn't look like a guitar at all (except for the shape )2. The buttons work well but the feel is strange and unfamiliar, it takes time to get used to it3. The strings are too soft and too sensitive4. Again, this is a plastic toy, not a professional midi device or guitar, so don't expect too much in terms of quality or performance. Does not work wirelessly, requires additional cables. I used it with an iPad but I think you can use it with anything. Here's a list of the items you'll need to get this thing working: 1. MIDI to USB2 cable. USB Power Hub because the iPad does not supply enough power from the USB port. I used D-Link DUB-H4 but you can use any hub as long as it is AC powered.3. USB to USB-c cable or USB cable and USB to USB-c adapter to connect to iPad4. You need some kind of midi application. I've used both Synthesia and GuitarCapo+, but you can use whatever you like. Here's how to connect everything: 1. Connect the MIDI cable to the MIDI IN port on the guitar controller2. Connect the USB interface of the MIDI cable to the USB Power Hub3. Connect the USB Power Hub to the iPad using a USB to USB c4 cable. Turn on the guitar controller5. Open the Synthesia app, go to Settings/Music Devices. The guitar controller should already be identified there. So select this USB MIDI controller as your input device and follow the prompts to complete the setup. When finished, you can play the guitar controller and hear the sounds.6. Download the online manual for using the guitar controller as a MIDI device to find an explanation of the buttons, etc. This manual doesn't come with the controller, you need to search on google: Rockband 3 guitar controller midi manual pdf Mine Conclusion: If your main goal is for your kid to have fun, play the game and learn about guitars, this one is controllers are a good choice. In addition, let you enjoy the MIDI functions yourself. However, if you are a professional musician and need a MIDI controller or MIDI guitar to work with, don't buy this toy, look elsewhere.
