Review on Nutrient-Rich Royal Canin Mother & Babycat Dry Cat Food: Ideal for Newborn Kittens, Pregnant, and Nursing Cats by Janet Hernandez

Best transitional dry food for weaned kittens from 4 weeks of age

For those raising kittens this is the absolute best kitten food! It's perfect for when little fluffy clumps start to transition from breast milk to wet food to dry food. The pieces are quite small, making them very easy to chew. In fact, I found that some of the kittens I raised didn't even care much about wet food and preferred this Royal Canin food. And of course mom cats love it too, and it provides them with all the nutrients they need. I usually eventually switch to Purina Kitten Chow, which has larger pieces as the kittens get bigger, usually around 7 weeks old. I also use Purina for mothers before the kittens are weaned as it's just cheaper. But I don't know what I would do without this wonderful dry food! Just a note: Royal Canin also sells food labeled "Kitten" rather than "Mom and Kitten," and the packaging is nearly identical. . I once bought kitten food when I wanted mom and kitten food when I wasn't paying attention. The pieces are about twice the size, which I personally didn't want, although the kittens didn't complain! So be careful if this is important to you.
