Unfortunately it didn't work for my dog. It feels warm and water-repellent. Overall I would say the size is right. However, since it needs to be worn snugly to create comfortable pressure, I have found that my dog does not sit or lie down when wearing it. I got the impression she felt like she was wearing a corset. That meant she had no choice but to keep walking or standing. If it had a stretchable panel, that could allow for a comfortable "hug" while still leaving room to breathe. Don't know if other brands are the same or not. we will search
