serious fire hazard! Worked fine for 5 months and then one morning I suddenly heard a "popping sound" and saw the female end of this cord emitting sparks and flames. Luckily I was right there and stomped on the sparks, pulled and the head immediately popped off. Where it happened, the ground was scorched. In this case, only one device was plugged into the power strip, but it was NOT ON and was not consuming phantom power. It hasn't turned on for at least 12 hours. If it had happened at night or while I was away, the house would most likely have caught fire. I wrote to the manufacturer about this serious concern and received a response. NOTHING. Let the buyer be alert.
