I bought these because I was tired of putting plastic Tupperware containers in the microwave at work. These 2 cup versions are perfect for whatever I pack for leftovers, it's a good amount of food and easy to carry. I was a little concerned that the lids were tight enough that I could carry a full bowl of soup without leaking, but so far so good. I've used some of Rubbermaid's excellent little plastic containers in the past, but every time I heated something in them there was always a residue or stain that didn't come out no matter how many times the item was washed. After a while buildup will render the plastic unusable so this is a great alternative as it seems perfectly clean after each use, even the lids. remove without burning your fingers, but that's a small price to pay.
