Good idea but not as advertised. The charging cable is out of the boom.

I really liked this product. It's a great idea, but implemented poorly and cheaply. I've used it with both iPhone 8 plus and iPhone 11 Pro. Both come with a protective case. Pros: - It grabs and releases your phone almost magically! Check out the video posted by another reviewer. - Starts loading quickly and loads quickly. There is no need to connect a cable to a later model iPhone, this is via induction as stated in the description (of course your phone will not be inductively charged if your phone does not have this capability). - It can be positioned in many ways by adjusting the gooseneck. It holds the phone securely in place. In fact, it can probably carry a phone 10 times heavier than a full-size iPhone. Cons: - The power cord is on the outside of the gooseneck. Not all product photos show that if you ignore one of them, this cable will make a mess in the interior of the car. This design limitation defeats the purpose of this device. If your car's outlet is too close to your car's shifter, it doesn't matter how much you bend your gooseneck, it will still be too close to the lever and you'll rub your hand on it when you shift because that's how it is is The power module is too long. Made from cheap hard plastic that feels cheap. As per other reviews, the gooseneck is very difficult to move and you must use two hands or you risk damaging the car's socket. - Please check the position of the cigarette lighter socket before purchasing, the gooseneck length is about 8-10 inches. - IMPORTANT: Check how securely the cigarette lighter socket is attached to your car before purchasing. I have a 2004 Toyota Sequoia and a 2006 Toyota Corolla and in both cars the cigarette lighter outlet rotates about 5-10 degrees in the socket when I put my finger in and move my finger. This means if I turn too far in the turn, the phone and this device will swerve about 4 inches in the opposite direction due to centrifugal forces. Keep this in mind before you order. - Poor user manual (which also doesn't show that the power cord is external) - Once the gooseneck is attached to the charging module, it cannot be removed without causing damage. Neutral: I haven't checked the vent holder, but it looks fine. (Although it's made of the same cheap hard plastic). I wish it had a suction cup, or better yet, screwed into the base of the dash so I can run the 12v power cord to a fused source in the dash so all the wiring is internal. and aside for me the bad outweighs the good so it's coming back. Make your own conscious choice. A few final notes not related to this product: - Be careful driving or waiting at traffic lights - Please do not text or drive - Drive carefully, it will save you pain and money in the long run.
