Fuchsia is a hard color to get right, and is often mistaken for magenta (or even hot pink.) But the key difference between the two? Fuchsia is a jewel tone. Magenta is not.Why is this important? Jewel tones are richly saturated hues that I can pull off as a redhead. Even magenta can be fine if it’s deep enough. But this dress color is neither. It’s more of a muted hot pink that forgot it was supposed to invite someone from the purple family to its color party, so only a distant relative was able show up on such short notice instead. Crayola calls this color: pink flamingo. And pink flamingo unfortunately makes me look like a corpse.So I will be returning it. Which is also unfortunate because the fit and flow of the dress is actually spot on! True to size and to just above the knee for me at 5’4”
