. Most of the glass bowl stays cool, and little heat escapes from the base.

Yes, it's a bit "blue". I have just received 2 packs. I screwed one into the night light and turned it on. All this so that nobody stumbles over the edge of the carpet at night. So if it's a little bit blue instead of a little bit yellow, that's not a problem. It was on for several hours. It's true what they say - because it only draws 0.6W instead of 4W, most of the glass envelope stays cool and little heat comes out of the base. The pear is oriented horizontally; if oriented vertically with the pointed butt up, the bottom would be even steeper. Either way, a cheap plastic night light will last longer with this cooler LED bulb. This lamp is labeled "daylight" but I think it should be labeled "cool" because it's definitely blue. It's only slightly whiter than one of those bluish neon lights from 1975. I gave it all 5 Revainian for its undeniable benefits. The lamp is marked 0.5 mA, which is 0.6 watts at 120 volts. Multiply 0.6 by the constant "8" - the general consensus - and you get the equivalent brightness of a 5 watt incandescent bulb. This means that if you were happy with a 4w incandescent night light this bulb should be fine, but it runs cooler, the little plastic holder it screws into lasts a few decades longer and the bulb should in comparison to last longer A 4-watt lightbulb that burns out when someone in the neighborhood sneezes. There are also 1 watt LED night lights with candelabra bases, giving the equivalent light of an 8 watt incandescent bulb if you think a little more light would be nice and it still burns cooler than a 4 watt incandescent bulb. CRLight 1W LED Filament C7 Night Light Bulb 2700K Warm White 110lm E12 Socket Candelabra C7 Mini Torpedo Shape Replacement 11W Incandescent Bulb 360ยฐ Beam Angle No Dimmable 2pcs Hmmm, "warm white" means "on the yellow side" as opposed to cool blue. In theory, if your night light had a 4 watt bulb screwed into it, you should be able to switch to a 4 watt LED, and a cheap night light wouldn't make a difference to the neat one. The current drawn by the night light is the same, so the metal conductors won't notice any difference. Because LEDs are much more efficient at converting to light, a 4W LED is still colder than a 4W incandescent bulb. The only difference is that the light output of a 4 watt LED is about the same as a 32 watt incandescent, so more than a 25 watt incandescent, almost a 40 watt incandescent. That would be pretty neat from a cheap night light. But if you really only need a night light when you sleep, that amount of light can be distracting. If you turn me on, I'll never stop. According to the latest scientific research, blue light destroys all of the melatonin in our brain, making it harder to fall asleep. With a night light, it would make more sense if the LED night light were yellowish instead of bluish. But this is the first generation and you can't have everything. Update - 1 year 8 months later. The lightbulb still works. Usually he just works around the clock. Sometimes I rip the night light out of the wall while it's on, which would no doubt blow out the bulb. This just keeps working. I wonder if I can find the second bulb that came with this one?
