Review on 🚿 Vidan Home Solutions Over the Door Shower Caddy - Durable Rustproof Stainless Steel - 3 Tiers - Soap Dish - Includes Bonus Superior Suction Cup by Melissa Nevala

Sufficient, but not exceptional

Unfortunately, there are only a few such shower shelves (especially with a soap dish). I love that it fits over the shower door frame and the gasket helps it stay in place and doesn't scratch the frame. But the biggest downside is that once installed, I can't use the inner door with handrail to open the shower door (double sliding doors in my case). If you have a different shower design, it can work well. Also, the height isn't adjustable, so mine ends up a few inches above the door rail, meaning the bottom hooks are useless to me (although these bottom hooks work great). A couple of spacers to attach the wires to shorten the length would be very helpful. However, those bottom hooks hit the shower door (the suction cup doesn't hold the unit securely enough to prevent that). I ended up putting a padded drawer trim behind the block which doesn't look pretty but solves this problem. Also, the hooks on the sides of the soap dish aren't curved enough to securely hold my items (although they might work for yours). Also, the top shelf has several holes, so if you put it on this shelf, a smaller bottle will fall down. If you only put large bottles on this rack you should be fine. The rods are also shorter than most shower rods, so if you want to hang your nailbrush over the edge, it won't fit and will sit ridiculously. Everything, I don't think this is a terrible product. It just doesn't suit my needs. I would advise you to carefully consider how you want it to work in your space before purchasing. The description says it can be installed on a door less than 2 inches wide. This should mean it will fit up to 1.75 inches (even that was tight). For ease of installation, the threads on the rails are poorly cut, making them difficult to start. You also need to make sure the nuts are perfectly aligned or they will never hold. I can't tell if it's "modern" or "elegant" as that's subjective. And finally, I hope that stainless steel justifies the higher price. the time will show.

Pros
  • Understandable even for an old man
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
