Worked for me. I use this to share the audio from the Airport Express so my wife and I can hear the Airplay stream from the TV after the kids go to bed. I've tried several headphone splitters but always encountered the issue of audio cutting off if one or both headphone jacks were not in the correct position. Eventually I realized the problem was that my wife and I were using Klipsch headphones with microphones. Since the headphone splitters I was trying to use were only 3 pin, the pins were misaligned. I paired this splitter with a 4 pin TRRS extension and it worked like a charm, no problems since. The splitter looks well made. The contacts are good and tight. The sound quality is excellent. It really separates the stereo, I get clear and balanced left and right channels on both headsets at equal levels. I haven't used it in any situation where the mic would have been involved, so I can't comment on that. I will buy it again if my kids destroy it. Supplement Review, 11 Months After Purchase: I just want to add that at the time of writing this it has been 11 months since I started using this splitter almost daily. As a result, the children destroyed it. He behaved like a champion until the end. I'm here to get another one. 5 Stars.
