I've been using regular in-ear headphones with my Quest 2 since I bought it as I'm not a fan of built-in speakers. The cable is too long so I sealed it with tape but it looks bad and not perfect. These headphones are the perfect length for the Quest 2 and the sound quality is good. These aren't particularly high quality headphones, but they are a lot better than standard speakers and better than the cheap Panasonic headphones I've used. The audio cable is white and fits the Quest 2 fairly well. The fit is standard, and several sizes of elastics are included to ensure it sits snugly in the ear. If you have a good ear seal the bass is decent and I would never say it's poor sound quality. They are alright. A velcro strap is included to secure the cable on the left side to reduce tension. You don't have to use it, but it will keep the cord from dangling. They should work with the black Quest 1, they have an audio jack on both sides, but stereo headphones will work. These headphones don't have a microphone, you can still use the built-in microphone and it works great. I'm happy with them, I didn't expect amazing sound quality. There's no distortion or muddy sound, it's quite a flat, smooth sound and it's everything I was looking for in these headphones.
