Was looking for a cheap camera for my technophobe wife. This Vmotal module will probably do the trick, but it's definitely only good for casual recording. The camera is labeled "12 megapixels". Possibly, but even at maximum resolution it looks like 10 of those 12 megapixels have been lost in the process. The files are in JPG format and contain many compression artifacts, probably due to CPU speed limitations. When using auto exposure, highlights are darkened unless the scene has a very low dynamic range. Autofocus isn't a problem because I don't think there's a problem, just an old fixed-focus Kodak brownie lens. Sensitivity seems low and normal room lighting seems barely adequate, and long exposures require a very steady hand to minimize motion blur (I'm still playing with the settings, but the "Anti-Shake" setting doesn't seem to help at all ). In general, the best results are obtained with the highest detail settings combined with a manual ISO setting of 400, the highest setting. like your iPhone's camera, and if you leave all settings at default, the results won't be very good in many scenes. On the other hand, if it gets lost or falls into a lake, it doesn't hurt like losing an iPhone or Canon camera.
