I bought an IPD IPH-160 NC mono headset with USB PC adapter cable, mute switch and volume control. Both the microphone and speaker in this headset sound great. The headband is adjustable. If it feels too tight for you, you can reshape it slightly to make it as loose or tight as you like. The cable features a quick connect connector so the USB port and in-line controls (including mute, volume and freeze) can remain connected to the computer. This makes it easier to detach only part of the headset. The headset is very comfortable and light. I first bought a similar Sennheiser headset but didn't like it. Sennheiser limits the speaker volume and the maximum volume was not enough. There was also no quick shutdown. This headset was cheaper and far superior in performance and sound quality. A note: I've found that even though your computer's volume appears to be maxed out, the volume control on your headset increases the volume even further. I did some test recordings with this headset.
