Review on ๐Ÿงฝ SANNO Expandable Sink Dish Drying Rack with Utensil Silverware Storage - Rustproof Stainless Steel Drainer for Countertop or Over The Sink by Peter Hallett

The dimensions given are very untrue.

Let me start by saying that this shelf could be perfect for others with different sink sizes and uses. This steel wire is a little thinner than what I had previously, so it might be more prone to bending. Other reviewers who thought it was thicker have probably never had a better one. If I hadn't I would have been happy with its construction and found it to be of good quality. Also, I did not receive the dish rack shown in the picture and was looking forward to this bonus. I have not used the stand yet because I believe I am entitled to free shipping and I will look for a more suitable stand for my use. When buying, the dimensions of your sink matter if you plan to use it in it rather than on the counter, and the seller will accordingly remind potential buyers to consider this carefully. The problem is that comparing your sink's measurements is useless if the measurements given are as inaccurate as your own. They advertise dimensions of 15"L x 12"W x 4"H. They appear to be 'rounded' which is unfair to us as dimensions are very important given the intended use and the size. sink Actual Dimensions: External - 14 3/4 L x 11 1/2 W x 3 3/4 H. However, actual "usable" dimensions are 13 3/4 L x 10 1/2 W x 3" H due to significant sloping sides as well as leg height. So both measurements are a far cry from advertised sizes and for some people this is a deal breaker. No doubt the seller was there to make sure it wasn't too big for someone's sink, but they overlooked the fact that some people want to make the most of all the space their sink offers, and those inaccurate measurements have it didn't work out for me and it wasn't what I expected. We have a unique sink layout where one side is significantly larger and deeper than the other side. The smaller one should look like a prep pool and have a garbage chute. The big side needs a big rack to make full use of its space. Our previous shelf fit so well it looked like it was custom made for a sink and it lasted 13 1/2 years. I couldn't remember where I bought it so I went to my trusty Revain to find a similar one. The previous one was 16" L x 11 1/2 W x 4 1/4 H, and it came with an additional stainless steel bracket that hung firmly on the long side and provided a flat surface for jars. This increased the usable width to 14 3/4 We use it for our soap/detergent and sponge rack otherwise they would always fall on their side due to the curved bottom of the sink I wanted to buy a flat bottomed cart to place it on the long side , to hold the bottle with soap and sponge, and compensate for the loss of the support of the other post. The sides of our previous post were perfectly straight at the top and bottom, so the dimensions of the usable internal space were also the same.We thought the SANNO advertised 15" would make up for the extra inches in width. Not so. We would have to go from 16"L to 13 3/4L. We lost a lot of space. We would have to go from 11 1/2W to 10 1/2! Losing too much width again. Would have to give up 4 1/4H for that Height 3". As you can see this dish rack is not as advertised. Keep this in mind if you plan on using it in your sink. Otherwise you should be happy if you just use it as a countertop for your sink or if you have a smaller sink that drains everywhere however it does not hold as much crockery as the larger ones due to the sloping sides I have included photos so you can see the measurements clearly and understand why I am disappointed.
