Review on Libgdx by Luis Green

I like how it is cross platform, with support for Android & iOS as well as desktop versions of Windows (via Wine), OSX (native) or Linux users can use this to develop games too! It's fairly easy to get started if you've got some prior experience in programming - but be prepared that learning curve will take time. The documentation could do with an update though not much has changed recently so its still pretty basic. There are quite a few tutorials available online which should help beginners along their way! If your looking into making video games then using libGDX would give you great benefits since there really isn't another open source option out there right now unless you want to go down the Unity route. We were able to make our own RPG style game without having to pay tens of thousands of dollars upfront by hiring external programmers.
