Review on Annamaet Grain Free Sustain Line Caught Free Range Dogs by Justin Stinson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

First 2 ingredients are good, next 5 not so good

Happy with cod and turkey (IMHO only turkey would be even better) at the top of the ingredient list. However, the following ingredients cause me some concern. Lentils, green peas, and pea protein isolate add protein, and I would prefer the protein to come from meat and/or egg sources. It's impossible to tell how much of the protein in this food comes from cod and turkey. There is a possible link between legumes (as well as potatoes and sweet potatoes) and dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs. See FDA Study Concerning a Potential Link Between Certain Diets and Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy. I don't mind if I occasionally feed a bag of high legumes (I rotate between different quality dog foods with a Vine random sample bag that I haven't used before), but it does. a regular diet rich in legumes. This particular brand isn't listed on the FDA information, so I'm willing to include it in my diet for intermittent feeding. My dogs love fish and poultry food and they love this food. But that's JustMe. (I received this product in exchange for an honest review and I'm offering that here.)

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Pretty ok
