This belt is made from strong 1.5 inch webbing of good quality. It has a thick elastic tether, and the end of the webbing is cut with a hot knife to narrow one edge and one end. (Picture 1) The plastic buckle seems durable and 1/2 inch thick is not bulky. (Fig. 2) Cropping is easy. Push the buckle back (Fig. 3) to release the teeth holding the strap. The tape now slides freely; I used a razor with a blade to cut and a butane lighter to melt the end to prevent fraying. (Fig. 4) The belt buckle took some getting used to. In order to pass the end through the buckle, the buckle must be moved at such an angle that the locking teeth do not interfere. (Fig. 5) As I said, it was a bit uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it. The belt looks good and seems to last a long time. I paid 11.99 for this belt and am happy with the purchase.
